Lecture Series

Spartan International Consulting Group’s lecture series broaden the education of the public in the scope of personal safety and awareness.  Our presentations provide the community with ideas and fuel thought-provoking conversations about how to live in the world today more alert and secure.  Spartan’s mission is to seek and promote concepts that advance the protection of life when it is in harm’s way.   Our motto, “Prepare Today, Prevail Tomorrow”, is the mindset we encourage our participants to adopt so that they may be more aware versus more paranoid.

 

Lectures are open to community groups, businesses, security companies, libraries, schools and other entities that are interested in our philosophy.  Normal duration of a single lecture is 2 to 4 hours and the presenter is available for questions during and after the discourse.  Please contact us for a lecture presentation at your venue or for your group.

Terrorism Awareness

Every day, we seem to have an event that the media plays in a loop, over and over, placing us in a state of fear.  Our society seemingly lives in a state of emergency.

 

Terrorism Awareness lecture’s key point is being aware of the surroundings and being prepared.   We focus on maintaining keenness without derailing life into hysteric paranoia.        

This lecture prepares attendees to successfully recognize, report, and react to potential terrorist incidents. Additionally, learners will gain insight into the importance of protecting themselves and others through awareness-level training.

This talk consists of a classroom presentation highlighting the history of active shooter events, situational awareness, mindset, and the countermeasures to use during these violent encounters through Training, Awareness, and Prevention.

Understanding The Police

With all the media’s attention on policing in the United States, do you have questions of how and why the police do what they do? A lot of the answers you seek are uncovered in this presentation.

 

Understanding the Police gives listeners more familiarity with the selection process of potential police officers and what their training entails.  We discuss a police officer’s mindset, on and off the job, while also shedding some light on common misperceptions and myths related to the law enforcement profession.  This presentation is an eye-opener to the true world of policing and help you better communicate with police interactions that you may be involved in.

Advanced Emergency Medical Casualty Care

Tactical Medical Care is for those interested in taking the responsibility to learn life-saving techniques to be used in emergency situations. 

 

Students are taught to identify and treat the common causes of fatal injuries in a hostile environment.  Learn how to properly assess and treat victims of gunshot and blast injuries, provide care for serious bleeding and airway compromise as well other medical topics of tactical importance.  Our TMC instructor teaches Tactical Medical Care using techniques proven effective by law enforcement, military and first responders.

 

GENERAL CURRICULUM:

  • Principles of Tactical Combat Casualty Care

  • Hemorrhage control (including hemostatic dressings and tourniquet use)

  • Airway management (basic and advanced)

  • Management of chest and abdominal injuries

  • Environmental injuries

  • Medication awareness

 

Each participant will receive, as part of his or her course fee, a basic individual trauma kit with hemostatic gauze, a tourniquet, a CPR face shield and more.

The Opioid Epidemic: Understanding Today's Drugs

This lecture provides students with a basic comprehension of the opioid epidemic in America today as well as a general overview and basic knowledge of all seven drug categories. We discuss methods of ingestion, different forms in which all drugs come in, ways to keep loved ones safe and life saving techniques to use on those under the influence of drugs.

 

Attendees are given a basic understanding of how to identify individuals on drugs and also an insight into addiction, preventative measures and resources to help family and friends. This class is intended for all ages and for those seeking basic knowledge about drugs in America today.

Self-Defense

Our self-defense lecture demonstrates a holistic approach to self-defense, accentuating both physical and psychological strategies used to defend yourself. The lecture is designed to improve your awareness, personal safety, and self-confidence. The lecture is presented by professional martial artists and Use of Force instructors who have years of experience teaching this topic.  No prior martial arts experience is required.  This is a talk and demonstration by the presenters.

Shield Program: Protecting Your Children

This lecture is for parents, grandparents, childcare providers and anybody who cares for children on a regular basis.  We talk about the best practices for keeping children safe in today’s global community.   This lecture is also the introduction to our Shield Training Program.  In our program, parents and children attend classes that provide hands-on training.  Shield better prepares children to recognize threats, confrontations, and emergencies and gives them the knowledge needed to protect themselves from bullying, abuse, and danger.
